What's Ahead

Building a Calendar of Community Support

Friends of La Porte Animal Shelter is in the process of organizing its first calendar of community events. Our planned activities include supply donation drives, community fundraisers, volunteer days, and public educational outreach — all centered on supporting the La Porte Animal Shelter and the animals in its care.

These events are for everyone in La Porte — whether you're a lifelong animal advocate, a first-time volunteer, or simply a neighbor who wants to give back. We'll have something meaningful for you to be part of.

Community Supply Drive

One of the most direct ways to help the shelter is to fill it with the supplies animals need. We'll organize a collection drive where La Porte residents can drop off food, bedding, toys, cleaning supplies, and other essential items for shelter use.

Whether you donate one can of food or a truckload of supplies, every contribution makes a real, immediate difference for the animals at the shelter. A full list of most-needed items will be posted when the event is confirmed.

Community Fundraiser

Come together with fellow La Porte residents for our community fundraiser — an opportunity to support the shelter's most pressing financial needs while connecting with neighbors who share your values.

Funds raised at this event will be directed toward shelter needs including animal care supplies, food, and medical resources. Event format and details will be announced closer to the date.

Volunteer Day at the Shelter
